It is known that Michel de Nostredame (Latinized to Nostradamus) made many predictions. There is an opinion that in his quatrains he gave twelve absolute concrete dates. We decided to make our own research of the original quatrains written in Middle French language. Here are some results of our investigation. We intentionally do not give our own interpretation of these quatrains. Do it yourself.
Beaucoup, beaucoup auant telles menées,
Ceux d'Orient, par la vertu Lunaire,
L'an mil sept cens seront grands emmenées,
Subiugant presque le coing Aquilonaire.
Long before these events
The people of the East, by the Moon influence,
In the year 1700 will cause many to be carried away,
And will almost suppress the Northern area.
Le tiers climat sous Aries comprins,
L'an mil sept cens vingt et sept en Octobre,
Le Roy de Perse par ceus d'Egypte prins,
Conflit, mort, perte, à la croix grand opprobre.
The third climate comprised under Aries
The year 1727 in October,
The King of Persia imprisoned by those of Egypt:
Conflict, death, loss: to the cross great shame.
En l'an cinq cens octante plus et moins
On attend le siecle bien estrange:
En l'an sept cens et trois (cieux en tesmoins)
Aue plusieurs regnes un à cinq feront change.
In the year five hundred eighty more or less,
One will await a very bizarre century:
In the year seven hundred and three the heavens witness thereof,
That several kingdoms one to five will make a change.
Croistra le nombre si grand des Astronomes
Chassez, bannis et liures censurez,
L'an mil six cens et sept par sacre glomes,
Que nul aux sacres ne seront asseurez.
The number of astrologers will be so great,
That they will be driven out, banned and their books censored.
In the year 1607 by holy assemblies
So that none will be safe from the sacred ones.
L'an mil neuf cens nonante neuf sept mois
Du ciel viendra un grand Roy d'effrayeur
Resusciter le grand Roy d'Angolmois,
Auant après Mars regner par bon heur.
The year 1999, seventh month,
From the sky will come a great King of Terror:
To bring back to life the great King of the Mongols,
Before and after Mars to reign by good luck.
Clergé Romain l'an mil six cens et neuf,
Au chef de l'an fera élection
D'un gris et noir de la Compagne yssu,
Qui onc ne fut si maling.
In the year 1609, Roman clergy,
At the beginning of the year you will hold an election:
Of one gray and black issued from Campagna,
Never was there one as evil as he.
